DESCRIPTION:\nLecture: “Pirates and shipwrecks”…. come and learn about Torrevieja’s historical relationship with the sea.\n\nThe Ars Creatio Cultural Association celebrates the XVI edition of the conference cycle “Torrevieja and the Sea”.  \n\nThe event will feature two keynote conferences:\n\n\nFriday, September 20: Luis Miguel Pérez Adán, official chronicler of Cartagena, will offer a talk entitled “Torrevieja and the shipwreck of the Sirio”.\nIn this lecture, he will explore the details of the shipwreck of the Sirio, an Italian ocean liner that sank in 1906 off the coast of Cape Palos (Cartagena), causing numerous fatalities. \n\n\n\nSaturday, September 21: Ana Meléndez Zomeño, noted for her work in the dissemination of the history and cultural heritage of Torrevieja, will present the conference “Pirates in Cap Cerver. Centuries XIV to XVI”.\nIn this talk, he will address the history of piracy in the area during those centuries. \n\n\nBoth events will take place at 8:00 p.m. at the Casino de Torrevieja.\nAdmission will be free until full capacity is reached.\nIt is an excellent opportunity for those interested in the maritime history and cultural heritage of the region.  \n
