The Cocido con Pelotas, a traditional recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation, will be the protagonist of a free workshop on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11 a.m . at the “San Pascual” House for the Third Age in Torrevieja. \n\nWhat is Cocido con Pelotas?\n\nCocido con Pelotas is a dish that has been part of Torrevieja’s gastronomic identity for centuries. It is made with simple ingredients such as pork, chickpeas, rice, and spices, which together create a tasty and comforting stew. The tradition of this dish is so strong that there is even a Gastronomic Brotherhood of Cocido con Pelotas, founded in 2013, which fights to preserve this recipe and promote its consumption.  \n\nFree workshop to learn how to cook Cocido con Pelotas\n\nIn this workshop, attendees will learn how to prepare the Cocido con Pelotas following the traditional recipes that still keep the local gastronomy alive. The activity will be guided by experts in the field, including members of the Gastronomic Brotherhood, who will share their knowledge on the preparation of this delicious dish.   \n\nRegistration and important details\n\nThe free workshop will be held at the “San Pascual” House for the Third Age next Friday, January 31 at 11 a.m. To participate, it is necessary to register in advance at the Department of the Third Age, located at Calle Maldonado, 5.
