{"id":132253,"date":"2025-09-22T13:16:47","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T11:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/torrevieja.com\/events\/sol-international-film-festival-torrevieja-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T10:05:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T08:05:10","slug":"sol-international-film-festival-torrevieja-2025","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/torrevieja.com\/en\/events\/sol-international-film-festival-torrevieja-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"SOL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Torrevieja 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">From October 10 to 11, 2025, the XI Film Festival <strong>&#8220;SOL FILM FESTIVAL&#8221;<\/strong> will be held in Torrevieja<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 11th edition of the <strong>Sol International Film Festival<\/strong> will be held on <strong>October 10 and 11, 2025<\/strong> , offering a careful selection of national and international short films, meetings with filmmakers and a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This festival, promoted by the cultural association &#8220;Mundo Globus de Torrevieja&#8221;, has become a benchmark for independent cinema on the Costa Blanca, with local institutional support, several companies in Torrevieja and a firm commitment to film culture.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day-by-day program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 10 \u2013 Opening and screenings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The opening ceremony will take place at the <strong>Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center<\/strong>, where the <strong>2025 Official Selection<\/strong> of short films will be presented. Directors or team members will attend to present their works. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The short films will be screened in their original version with Spanish or English subtitles as appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to these screenings is free, but with limited capacity, it is necessary to request an invitation on the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.solfilmfestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.solfilmfestival.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 11 \u2013 Awards and Gala Dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The day culminates with the <strong>Awards Ceremony<\/strong> and a Gala Dinner at the &#8220;Las Columnas&#8221; Restaurant. During the gala, the winners in the various categories will be announced and will be celebrated with live music and a red carpet. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To attend the gala it is necessary to purchase <strong>a ticket in advance<\/strong>, which includes the restaurant&#8217;s menu. The crews of many of these short films will be present to present them and dialogue with the audience. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jury, awards and public voting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>professional jury is made up of the actor Vicente Gil, filmmaker, director of the production and publishing company Cinestesia, director of the Sax film festival, qualifier of the Goya Awards Miguel Herrero Herrero, casting director, actor and producer Pep Armengol and screenwriter, director of Spanish cinema in Chile Jes\u00fas Riquelme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will award the prizes in the following categories:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Best Short Film<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Director<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Screenplay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Actor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Actress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jury Prize<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the audience who attends will be able to <strong>vote for their favorite short film<\/strong>, which will receive <strong>the Audience Award<\/strong> during the closing gala.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tickets, invitations and access<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Screenings and opening<\/strong>: free access by invitation (previously requested).  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gala ceremony and dinner<\/strong>: advance ticket sales (including dinner) through the festival website.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To book a table or ticket you can use the form on the official website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.solfilmfestival.com\/\"><u><strong>www.solfilmfestival.com<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Sol Film Festival aspires for Torrevieja to become an exciting meeting point for emerging cinema in each edition, with a programme that not only screens films, but also stories that connect.
