repainted.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This monument was inaugurated in the year 2000 and symbolises the colous of Torrevieja on one side and the colours of the Valencian community on the other.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This monolith, commonly known as <strong>&#8220;El piruli&#8221;<\/strong>, serves many people as a geographical reference (thanks to its height of more than 30 metres).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-176551a3\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fwhattodointorrevieja%2Fvideos%2F626499745323427%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In fact, it is located on the <strong>main access road to Torrevieja<\/strong> (Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas) which welcomes thousands of new visitors to the city every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The part of the monolith facing the city is painted <strong>with the characteristic white and blue colours of the Torrevieja flag.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The side of the monument facing north shows the<strong> red and yellow colours present on the flag of the Valencian community.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image coblocks-animate has-lightbox\" data-coblocks-animation=\"fadeIn\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The upper part of this monument shows the shields of Torrevieja and the Valencian Community in 3D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In charge of maintaining this local infrastructure is <strong>Torrevieja City Council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another maintenance task carried out recently has been the restoration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/torrevieja.com\/en\/monument-to-the-man-of-the-sea-torrevieja\/\">monument to the man from the sea.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Are there any
