Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts about home care services for older people or people requiring support due to ill health.
I am mulling over a discussion with a 'holiday' nieghbour who volunteers for Help Vega Baja who felt I should consider starting a care agency in Spain. I am a Social Worker who works with Older People and my wife is an NVQ qualified carer experienced in supporting older people with both physical and mental health problems.
Having discussed this briefly with another person working with 'Help,' the problem we felt would be the demand and the funding of the care. In the UK this is subsidised by Local Government as well as benefits, not available in Spain.
Any of you good people got a view or experience of this whole proposition?
Is there private insurance available who I could hook up with. I am registered with the Social Care Council and so may be a better bet for insurance provision. Ive heard of a couple of carers working in the area but not sure of the demand in the area that would warrant the competiton or the existing quality (No offence to those who are working in the area).
It all sounds too good to be true. Doing a job we both love in a part of the world we only thought we could retire to (in about fifteen years )
