Have recently bought an apartment in Playa Flamenca and i'm going over at the weekend, but I need a double bed, a double bed sitee and a few other bits and pieces.

can anyone recommend anywhere nearby to purchase these goods?

Hi Matchey.

There are so many places to choose from, buut if you're after a 'one-stop shop' try Hnos (Hermanos) Garcia. They have a number of stores, but the biggest is just up the road from Carrefour. Exit the N332 at the Parque de Naciones and at the roundabout you will see one of their stores directly in front of you. Turn left at the roundabout and there is another (larger) branch just down the road on your right.

If you're after a really good quality sofa bed try Changing Rooms at La Zenia. You'll pay a little more, but the end product looks more like a sofa than a sofa bed (if you know what I mean) and is very comfortable to sleep on. If you intend to rent your place out to all and sundry, however, take the cheaper option from one of the larger furniture stores.

There are also a couple of large furniture stores in Torrevieja town (Decco, Arca etc). Take your time and have a good look round before buying. Also, don't be afraid to ask for a discount if you're buying a couple of large items in the same store - most are quite accommodating. Delivery times are usually pretty good - most of my furniture was delivered the same day (except the sofa bed which was made to order).
