Coriander please!

Any help with finding fresh Coriander( not flat leaf parsley) in Torre area please?

Haven't seen any in the markets, Ask your local Indian where they get theirs, it is easy to grow in a pot but that won't help you now. Sorry

I know this sounds obvious but have you established what corriander is called in Spanish?

A lot of herbs have different names in each language - just a thought

Growing it will have to wait until I'm over on a more permanent basis and I would recognise it by the look and the wonderful smell whatever it's called in Spanish!...Coming over tomorrow the only bad thing about it is having to live on Montebello

Spanish for Coriander is, wait for it, Coriandro.

Seems like all those jokes about just adding an 'o' onto the end of the word may not have been too far off the mark!

Coriander in Spanish is CILANTRO.


I believe that I have seen it some time in the section of vegetables of Mercadona.

I stand corrected - my apologies. That's the last time I use Systran to save the walk to my dictionary, and I take back everything I said about just adding an 'o' on the end of words!

This is the same word that the Americans use for coriander.

Ask in the SPice Hut a new Indian veggie restaurant practically opposite Playa Naufragos. They have many dried spices and might be able to help you to get the fresh somewhere.
