can somebody recommend a good car hire company for Automatic cars. There does not seem to be a great choice with the large companies.

Try www.carjet.com

They have a number of automatic options. Enter your rental details, then when you get to the car selection screen scroll down until you see the section for automatic transmission. They have a good range from Fiestas to Mercedes.

I am looking for a Focus (or similar). I checked out Car jet but it seems the price is the issue now. The manual is 135 euro compared to the auto at 265 euro. I am prepared to spend more on an Auto however I dont think twice the price is fair.

If that is normal so be it, I will rent a manual but I will continue searching for now.

I agree. I know you can expect to pay a premium for automatics, simply because most hire fleet is manual, but that does seem a bit steep. I do know, however, that Carjet are normally very competitive. Have a look at some of the other companies that Carjet don't use e.g. Record, Victoria Cars and you may get a better deal. I don't know the websites - sorry.

FC car hire have always come top out cheapest for an automatic car for me.

Head office is la marina, branch by carrefour. Maybe someone will have the phone number or email address?
