  • No Going Back

    Hiya,

Following the good advice found on this forum (Well Done Guys!) we've only gone and done it!

We're moving to a rental in Torrevieja early in Oct, with a view to staying forever.

Our plan is to rent for six months, have a good look around before eventually commiting to buying a bar.. ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE MOST WELCOME!!

We're sorting out our NIE numbers from the consulate in manchester, but thats it......

What else do we need to do to complete the formalities of buying and living in spain??

Our lives in a couple of suitcases....yeah I know, Scarey.

Any Comments or Suggestions GOOD OR BAD would help, we're coming, and thats that as they say.

    Regards

    Phil & Jean

Start a bus service round the urbs & to the coast, you will make a fortune ! We are in the villamartin area , if you got no car, its a pain .

Very good suggestion about starting a bus service. It seems there is never a reliable bus service in spain, so a minibus service or something similar would be invaluable.

We were told that there is a bus service from our little village of Algorfa to both Torrevieja and into Almoradi. In all the times we have visited (and we don't have a car so very often walk down to the bus stop) we have never yet seen a bus!

Gotta be a gold mine for some enterprising individual!

Its a great idea but i would presume an english person would not get an operators licence to run the service.

It is not possible at all we ran a minibus co in england, and there is NO way you can set up a legal Co with Insurance etc here in Spain.
              I wish there were

Sounds to me you are doing everything right, all I can do is wish you the best of luck and hope you both enjoy yourselves in your search.
