  • Google Earth - spot your place in Spain!

for anybody who hasn't come across probably the best application ever take a look at this http://earth.google.com/earth.html

Stay about 700ft from the ground to get the best view.

I can see our house, garden, trees & even make out the 2 strips of paving (about 18" wide) that make up our driveway!

Pictures are roughly 12-18mths old but good enough!

    Absolutely amazing!

The system relies on stored satellite images, some of which don't have sufficient resolution to be able to zoom in fully. I've tried the application but it runs soooooooooo slowly even on Broadband for me.

How do I do that Tigurrh? I have xp on my laptop but I'm a bit stupid when it comes to anything more complex than a microwave (although I am still the only one in my house who can program the video ).

after installation, upon first run it should ask you if you want to use active x, alternatively there are two options on your all programs menu.

There should also be an icon on your desktop and on your start menu, but these start with the default option which you chose when you installed (you may have inadvertantly missed it). So I wouldnt use these until you've clicked the start with Active X option, they should all then default to active x.

Also make sure that your in 1024x768 res and that you have the latest version of active x.

I've got nearly 400Mb of memory and using 64Mb of shared memory so my machine is a bit nippier than most.

                I'll give it another go!

another neat feature I've just found is that you can put coordinates in to the search box & let google earth take you there!

                    i.e one of our urb swimming pools "37 56 36.53 N 0 43 20.97 W" (without quotes) - brilliant!
