Spanish Health Service Hospitals & Doctors Surgeries

Naively never thought it would happen to us, but last week in Torrevieja I needed to find a doctors for my wife who had food poisoning.

I had an E111 with me but as we were in such a rush we didn't know which doctors or hospitals were run by the Spanish NHS and had to go to the first private one we found.

Can anybody provide me with the names and addresses of any Spanish NHS & Doctors Surgeries where I can use an E111 in the Torrevieja area for future reference.

I KNOW THAT YOU CAN USE THE E111 AT THE CLINIC LA LOMA. ITS ON THE CORNER OF AV DE PARIS / VIRGEN DEL MAR CALAS BLANCAS AREA. THIS IS WHERE THE AMBULANCES TAKE THEIR PATIENTS.

CLINIC LA LOMA

Hi Blueboy,

I have an apartment very near CLINIC LA LOMA, but was advised by some of my neighbours to look for another Clinic / Hospital if taken ill as this one was not very friendly with non-Spaniards. I am hoping from your message that you have used it, only for a minor reason of course! If so, that will be a big relief as I don`t drive and have no idea where the next medical centre is.

im lucky enough not to have used the clinic, but i have spoken to local ex-pats who use it and everything seems ok. like yourself i dont drive when im over, there is another clinic the other side of town the bus B and G stop outside it on the way back from carrefour i cant think of its name or street name.

Well that is good news, as my wife has a few health problems and seeing how close that clinic is, helped us choose our apartment. We chatted before on this site a year or so ago and we tried out some of the local bars you recommended, Corky`s etc. I think our favourite so far is Ollie`s Bar, even though it`s quite small and gets very busy during the summer months. We are over again for 2 weeks from tomorrow and looking forward to it, even though the weather is meant to change for the worse. Once again, thanks for the good news about CLINIC LA LOMA.

Yes that`s me and your the Millwall fan? You will have to give us a clue what you look like incase I bump into you in Ollie`s. I enjoy watching sport in there as well, since they have a large screen. Might see you soon.
