With the building of the hospital in the Los Balcones area we have been told that the property in that area has been geting snapped up, also that
inquires for rent for future hospital staff have been made , have also heard that about five properties have recently been bought on the lago Jardin 1 Urb. any info on this, or has any other areas close to the hospital found the same thing happening?

All I know about Los Balcones is that buying off plan is asking for trouble as some developments were sold two years ago and not a brick has been laid yet. I live near a hospital in England and there is a big demand for rental accommodation from hospital staff. Situation in Spain may be different however.

Whilst I'm not quite sure what your angle is here, I doubt that property values will increase dis-proportionately higher than anywhere else. I sold our place which overlooked the hospital when the piles were being rammed in the ground a year ago. At just 100 metres away I figured I could not face having the constant noise of sirens & increased traffic volumes through the night. There seemed to be a constant flow of ambulances even then going past to orihuela hosp. We preffered the quieter life watching the orange trees blossom!! I f anything I would have thought prices might even soften a bit. Also house prices & rentals are likely to be greater than local hospital salaries could pay for. Staff might be more inclined to live 15K / 20 mins inland for cheaper housing. If you are thinking its an oportunity to make a quick buck, I would look elsewhere.
