Well, I've been worrying for months - not quite sure why - recommended by someone to do it in England at the Consulate in Manchester - we did! The dreaded NIE. Very quick, very simple, took max 1/2 an hour. Ok, we've got to wait for the end result but the Solicitor is sorting all that out at their end and we've been told it will be 4-6 weeks.
Relieved - you bet - just one of those things that niggles you!
