h i everyone i have to write a 1500 word essay in spanish for my a level. i want to write about torrevieja because i already know a lot about it, how ever i cant just write about the town. the essay must be analytical so it can have some sort of conclusion at the end. ideas ive had are' is torrevieja losing its traditions like other towns on the costas or are the tourists helping these traditions live on' another one i could do is 'how is tourism affecting torrevieja and the people that live there' what do you guys think? would you be able to help me by answering questionnaires if i was to make one. any ideas please let me know

As you've had no replies I would suggest a seach under Torrevieja, crime, moving out, etc. Sorry I can't personally help I'm still stuck in the UK.

How about something along the lines of how the town's infrastructure has had to move quickly to keep up, and whether this has been successful. E.g. the population in the town and surrounding areas has been expanding like mad for the last 5 years, yet there is no hospital (it's currently being built). A new "Foreigners' Office" has recently opened to cater for the paperwork needed by non-residents requiring NIE numbers and the like, the water situation in the area could be heading for problems since the new left-wing government cancelled the Ebro water channel project, and so now a desalination plant is having to be built.
Should be 1500 words in there somewhere I'd have thought!

Hmmm. Tricky one. You could start with the Tourist Office in Torrevieja who might be able to point you in the right direction. Alternatively, depending on how good your spoken Spanish is, try to find out if there is a press office at the Town Hall. If this fails, maybe speak to some of the English speaking journalists on The Leader, Round Town News, or Costa Blanca news.
