  • First time Torrevieja - recommendation required

We are looking at flying to Murcia but staying in Torrevieja - we are thinking of renting an apartment there for a week next year.

It is just for a girlfriend and myself whilst husbands go golfing in the Algarve.

We are not looking for discos but like to go for a nice meal and then to a bar(s) for a few drinks and maybe some entertainment. During the day we like sunbathing and of course shopping

We are thinking of staying in Torrevieja Town as we will not be hiring a car and we would like to be able to walk to the beach & all the nightlife.

Can you recommend any specific areas or tell us where to avoid. We do not want to be in any remote or isolated area.

We would be really grateful for any info as we dont really know anything about the area. Also if anyone knows of any nice apartments to rent that would be great.

    Look forward to any suggestions.

    Hello sun Lover.
My wife and I have an apartment in Aguas Nuevas, close to the Aquapark and Sports Centre, There are a number of bars , restaurants and supermarkets within 5 - 10 mins walk. there are regular buses into the town centre. You can walk it in 30 mins !

    We live near Preston.

    Regards

I have an apartment in the centre of town (not looking to rent it!) and it is the best area for me. Plenty of typically Spanish bars and restaurants but if you are looking for British bars, restaurants and entertainment you would be better off staying on one of the urbainsations outside of town such as Villamartin, Playa Flamence which are about a 15 minute drive from the centre as there is usually a lot of traffic on the N332.

I am about 2 minutes from the beach which is ideal and I think many apartments in town are Spanish owned. I am sure you would have no trouble getting something at a reasonable rate through the agents if there is nothing suitable on this forum.

If you are hiring a car, even better, you have a choice of town or on the urbs if you prefer to be with the Brits.

            Apartment in Torrevieja

I have an apartment in the town centre, five minutes from the bus station and eight minutes from the beach. My next door neighbours are an English couple who live there year round. Like SMG says Torrevieja is not Benidorm but there are countless bars and restaurants. If you are interested you can contact me at graham.anderson@homecall.co.uk
