Can anyone tell me when the work will start on the building of the walkways on the seaside of the N332. This will be across the road from Lidl Supermarket.
I saw the plan in the town hall 17 months ago. The plan showed walkways between Punta Prima and Playa Flamenca beaches. They stretched back as far as the N332.
    Regards Mac.

There is work going on now at Playa Flamenca, just down from the Post Office. Quite a large area is cordoned off for the works.

When we were out in mid October they were on with errecting fencing around the parking area. I asked one of the spanish guys working there and he said it was going to be a walk way and it would take one year to complete.
I do not know how far they are taking it as my spanish is very limited.
Does anyone else know any more.

Will this work include down by Cabo Roig. I know a lot of it is already done, but walking back toward La Zenia, it looks like a lot had collapsed, howvere iot had been a while since I had last been there and perhaps the old brain was playing tricks?

I found this in the Coast Rider - Work has started on the promenade along the coast of Orihuela Costa. Four million euros have been invested in the project so residents and visitors will soon be able to walk from the Northern tip of the municipality in Punta Prima down to Cabo Roig taking in the coves of Cala Capitan and Cala de la Mosca.
The work will not only add to the beauty of the coastline and the enjoyment of the area but will also stem the flow of erosion as the coastline is disappearing into the sea. The route will only use naturally occurring stone for the area, gardens along the route will also be planted with indigenous types of flora and the balustrades will be metal and will also help to blend in with the environment. The work is being carried out by the Ministry of Environment under the supervision of the Orihuela Costa council.

          Regards

          John

I think this may be all part of the project that will see the building of a new marina opposite Lidle. We were told that it should all be finished in 2008, but who knows. There are also rumours of 2 mand made beaches between the Nautilus and PP beach. That would be great as the coastline is very rocky. Lets just hope that they keep them free of seaweed which seems to spoil one or two of the beaches in that area.
