  • IT help needed

I am having problems with my internet, email connection via Telefonica, they say that this is my problem and not a Telefonica fault, I have spoken to a IT freind in the UK, and all problems point to Telefonica blocking my outgoing mail server, My ADSL/ Router and phone line are all via telefonica, I am having to pay for a telefonica engineer to come to my home to see what the problem is. If this proves to be my PC problem, can anyone recommend at IT company or person who will come to my house, and check out my PC and set up, or come over and talk to telefonica on a technical level.
I live in Benijofar, and my email and internet have been working with no problem for 14 months.

    Thank you in advance

you could set up another email with say yahoo for example
if you can then use that account but not telefonicas then it could be a couple of things.

    1) telefonica and this is more likely because a lot of other people have had problems recently

    2) You may have something on your comp blocking the internet, like soyware or something

You could try a couple things :

Since the internet works ok; - Go to the Telefonica web site that comes with your account and login into your Telefonica email there. If this works, the email account is fine.

The other thing is to double check your outlook express entries :
Tools, accounts, properties (of selected account). If you receive emails, the password is OK anyway.
Check you have your full email address including the bit after the @
All the other details like the POP name of the server SMTP server etc you should have received from Telefonica.

Thanks to all that replied to my posting,, and a very big THANKYOU to Adrian of costablanca computers, within 15 minutes of talking to him over the phone he had me up and running, just by changing the server I was using for outgoing emails, 'easy when you know how' and I didnt. All this for the price of a phone call, and Adrian called me!! What can I say!! Thankyou once again.
