    Hi
Just took possession of our place in Spain, but the roof terrace is covered in what looks like cement dust. Have asked the builders to look at it, but (when) they haven't done it when we go back over, i'd like to clean it up.
Any ideas? Have tried to scrub it & wash it down but it just dries looking the same.
Also, they have dripped red paint on the steps from when they did the rendering. this seems like a kind of rubberised paint that doen't seem to want to come up either.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Hi wigan wanderer

A common solution to getting of cement stains etc in Spain is to use acid, and it is on sale in most ferretias, ask for Agua Fuerte.

Using gloves and and eye protection pour over the cement stains and scrub using a stiff brush preferably long handled!!! then rinse off using PLENTY of water.

The red paint you refer to, is most likely a rubberised waterproofing paint and if th eacid is not efedctive on this, try a high pressure water jet

    Hope this helps

                Hi

Don't be tempted to use Agua Fuerte on your marble floors to get rid of any excess grout, etc. After a while the acid eats into the tiles and leaves what looks like water spot stains. The only way to either get rid of the marks and to stop further damage is to have the floor re-sanded, as my neighbour found to his cost!

Glad you have got your keys now.

I should chase the builder to remove the marks - we had burgundy coloured paint on our coloured render when we took possesion ( in Florida Golf on Calle Nicaragua). They had painted the spiral staircase in a rush ! THe builders came back and removed it.

By the way we are in Spain during part of April - would be good to meet up if we are there at the same time .
