Supply and install a satellite dish..?

A brief search didn't reveal any recent posts on this subject but apologies if it has been raised before!

I have a Panasonic digital satellite receiver and need someone to supply/install a satellite dish to receive the basic (non-subsription) channels transmitted via the Astra 2-south and (hopefully) Astra 2d satellites.

Can anyone recommend someone local who can do this for a reasonable price? I'm back in the UK so can't check this out, but I gather that Carrefour are selling dishes at a reasonable price, so I may only need installation but first and foremost I need advice regarding dish size etc. Our house is in Los Altos, Orihuela Costa (near Via Park 3).

Any help gratefully received. Direct replies from installers welcome.

I installed a 600mm then upgraded it to a 1.2M dish with a Panasonic digibox. This picks up the South beams of the Astra 2 sats., not 2D. I get SKY news, CNN, Euronews, Men& motors,Horror Movies, Extreme Sports and lots of shopping channels, fair selection of UK radio inc Radio4 and Radio2. This is all without a SKY card. Plenty or religion TV of all types !!! This is a really low cost set-up but sufficient for holidays.

The 600mm dish worked fine, just happen to see someone selling the 1.2M at the supermarket small ads, I think this gets me a few extra channels.

The BUT is that you cannot get BBC TV or ITV which is on 2D. If you want UK domestic TV then go for one of the local mesh or small dish re-broadcast systems. To receive the 2D sat you need a very big dish - 2.4M or 3M and the cost would be prohibitive and you need flat floor area to mount it.

One special point, you need to set-up your digibox to tune into a different frequecy for the EPG. The default frequency is on Astra2d and the digibox says no signal received but the EPG is also available on the Astra 2 South beams provided you tell the digibox to look there. There are some special "engineering" menu items you need to press that do not appear on the screen. Otherwise you have to tune the channels manually "add channels" - not good.

nortons gear's not up to much they put in dishes that are in segments and what you need is a solid dish i've just had mine put in by bluesat they are a Spainsh company, it cost 900E for a 1.9Mtr dish with a invacom c120 lnb with two feeds, so you can put a second box in the bedroom or better still go halfers with a neighbour there phone No is 965631249 and ask to speek to Raul if you want any more info please ask
