I have just been quoted 50 euro each way from Murcia airport to Torrevieja for next week by an ex-pat company can this be right ? They say Torrevieja is equidistant from Alicante and Murcia.

How many people would it be 50 euros is a bit steep. 40 euros is about average for 4 people.

I know people who charge 25-35 euro so I would say it was a rip off.

We paid 35 euros for a taxi last year but some friendly soul may
offer to do the trip for 30 euros.

I have just booked a couple of taxi's through girotransfer@yahoo.com -

Murcia airport to Playa Flamenca - 3 people + baggage 30 euros, 4 people + baggage 32 euros

Not used them before but def going to give them a try this time!

Edit: Forgot to add, last year a taxi with Orhiuela taxis from PF to MA was 30 euros!

Just been reading this thread and when we come over to live later this year I was thinking of setting up doing airport runs and other taxiing work. I wondered whether anyone had views on this... for example are there too many people doing this type of work already or is there scope for more, bearing in mind all the urbanizations being built with potential new customers?

Sorry to be boring but the chances are that all these offers of airport runs are totally illegal and would not be covered by insurance. You are risking far too much using these illegal taxis.

Rich there is next to no chance at all that you can run a service legally so I'd forget that idea if I was you.

On a slightly different note it cost me 4.27Euros on the bus to Alicante airport from Torrevieja last week. I dont know if a bus runs from Murcia.

Thanx for the advice on the taxiing work folks, don't think i'll be going down that avenue... never mind, got experience in plenty of other fields of work.
That bus fare is very cheap Steve, might look at that option myself when we next come over.

Taxi costs

Hope somone (or more than one) can help with some advice on Taxi costs from Murcia (San javier), Murcia (new airport) and Alicante to the Campoamor / Cabo Roig area - I am just getting a document together for friends / families on the area for when the house is built and they use it when we are not in the country.
