  • weather, buses n bars ??

    Hi all

I am coming to torrevieja and staying at the Hotel Torre Joven for 1 week on the 27th March and I have a few questions for which I would be so grateful if you could answer for me please:

    1) what will the weather be like?

    2) is there a bus from the airport to torrevieja? and if so which bus do I need to get and what are the times?

    3) Most importantly where are the best bars to go at nightime for two girls in their twenty's to have a great time?

    thank you

    Michelle..x

The waether at that time of year can be changeable. It can be warm and sunny during the day and cold at night. However if you are very unlucky you can get cold and wet.

The hotel that you are staying in is at a place called Punta Prima. There are a number of bars and restraunts right next door. These are probably not what you are looking for.

However very close to you hotel are a number of commecial centres that have numerous bars and food outlets that will be more to your liking. Playa Flamenca and Via Park are two of these.

Torrevieja town centre is not far away and a taxi should be quite cheap.

I am a bit old to know much about nightlife but a word of caution you will see places with lots of flashing lights and big signs saying NIGHT CLUB these are not the sort of places a 20 year old girl should go into (unless it is to work if you get my drift)!

The bus services around the area are very good and dont be afraid to be adventurous. English is understood everywhere and the people are very helpfull.

As for a bus from Alicante airport I am not sure that one goes direct. But you can get a bus to Alicante and change to a Torrevieja bus and then take a taxi to the hotel.

A direct taxi Airport to Punta Prima would be about 50 Euros.

Hope you have a lovely holiday in our little bit on Spain.

Unfortunately no direct bus service from Alicante Airport to Torrevieja. As suggested above you will need to go into Alicante and get connection from there. Found this on the net - Bus from Airport as follows:-
Line C-6, Bus stop 30 at Alicante Airport,
Cheap - only about 0,90 Euro to downtown
Slow - needs up to 40 Minutes to Alicante Center (but - hey take it as your first sightseeing trip )
Timetable - It's all written on the post. But ... never worked our for me - comes usually every 45 Minutes to pick you up at the airport. So if you lucky - it is right there, if not... well - enjoy the sun!
Air-Conditioned - well sort of, sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't - but it's fun!
Bus Driver - Please don't worry! A spanish bus driver might not speak english or german, but if you ask for "Estacion de trenes" (Train Station) - he will tell you when to leave the bus! - do not get impatient it will take 40 minutes!
(one comment on spanish bus drivers. They are the most friendly people I cam across so far. Helpful and always smiling - I love them)

why not rent a car for the week. I rented from carjet loads of times. Currently you can get a citroen c2 for 95 euros weekly. Even using the petrol it'll be cheaper than getting taxis to & fro to ALC and its very convenient. If you plan to drink loads we used to leave the car in town and pick it up the next day sometime. Buses into town are dirt cheap. Don't be too concerned about driving on the "wrong" side. Apart from trying to change gear with the wrong hand sometimes you soon get used to it.

I live in Playa Flamenca and know of someone who does airport pick ups, if you want me to get a price for you get in touch. At least this way you will feel a little more safe, you will know what you are to pay before you get in the car and you will be at the hotel in about 40 minutes

For your peice of mind we could give you details such as car reg name and address prior to you leaving the uk you can then pass these on to a family member.
