Front Door Grills

[barry allaway]

Can anyone advise what is a fair price for a front door grill to be fitted to our property that is being built? The builder fits window grills as standard but we are considering a Front door grill for extra security and also to enable us to have the door open whilst we are in the property to aid air flow in the summer. Our builder has quoted 550 euro's which sounds expensive for a bit of meatl and some screws.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Barry

We have also been looking for companies to fit front door grill for us when we go in April.

We have had quotes of 406 euros (which includes a bit of extra work because a strip of marble does not quite meet so needs to be cut away).

The other quote was for 260 euros.

Both are powder coated, solid metal not hollow which appears to be the best finish.

I think the 550 euros is way over the top.

We have been quoted 360 euros and 350 euros from two other companies but don't know what sort of grills they are.

The grill firm we use charges around 350 euros for door grill, depending on whether it has a fancy design or not. This is with 3 point locking. If you get a door, make sure you get one with the 3 point locking, rather than single point. 550 euros is way over.

Thanks all - very helpful

If you go to the industrial estate at the back of Carrefouers there are several small business units that make metal grills. I suspect that if you shop arround inthat area and deal direct you will be able to cut the cost dramatically.
