Completion End Of May!! Best Way To Transfer the 15% Fees?

Completion is around the corner and due for end of May (fingers crossed).

Our property is purchased through Atlas, who have set up a Bankinter account already.

We have also set up a Halifax account in this country and are in the process of opening a Spanish Halifax account from the UK (if possible). Between the two we have been told is a good way to transfer funds on a monthly basis? with no charge!!

What is the most efficient way to tranfer the initial 15% of the purchase price to ensure the funds available when in Spain to pay all taxs etc?

Also the best way to transfer monies on a monthly basis?

Would be interested in both good and bad experiances!!

Any help, advice, would be greatly appreciated!

We use HFIX and transferred money into our bankinter account, and also direct to Atlas to pay the initail 30% deposit we paid. Worked fine and HFIX get good exchange rates and quite easy to set up HFIX account.

HFIX also do a monthly transfer operation, not used it yet, but am planning to look into this when we take ownership in the autumn.

I to would be interested in hearing others views of Halifax as I have heard about the no cost transfers.

We set up an account with currencies direct and they gave us a good exchange rate. They also have an agreement with some banks in Spain not to charge for bank receiving money. Just a point , don't accept the first offer, they can often better it if you 'um and ah'.

Curencies direct were great. no fuss and monies direct into cam bank NO HIDDEN CHARGES.
