Gas Hobs

I saw a programme the other day which mentioned that due to problems with electricity supplies people are now converting to gas hobs. Are these readily available in the area? can anybody advise on the approximate price of the hobs and which type of gas bottle do they run off i.e. is it the small silver ones that you see in the garages etc all over the Costa. Thanks

I think you mean the gas ovens,i have just bought a new gas oven for 215 euros,they run off the small gas bottles,that can be exchanged for full ones @approx 8 euros.The oven works pretty good and is cheaper to run than the electric type.

I have a gas hob, as I don't like the ceramic ones. The set up is similar to the calor gas fire, with a regulator, and it uses either the silver or orange bottles, depending on what you can get. I have had the hob for 18 months or so, and am only now just on my third bottle - and I live here - so it is pretty cheap to run! The only downside is that you lose a bit of cupboard space as you need somewhere to put the bottle.
