  • gas bottles

A friend of mine has recently been trying to obtain a new gas bottle from one of the many outlets in the area. Everywhere they seems to go will not supply a new bottle and will not set up a contract.
I never had a problem when I wanted to take out a contract for the bottles. Has something changed recently or are some companies being more stricter than others.
    Thanks

You used to be able to get a license from most places where you could buy gas but they have stopped that. Now you have to get it from certain places only who have been authorised and they are keeping a tighter control on names and addresses. Why ? So they can do annual checks on your gas fire and charge you for the visit each year - a bit like the landlord gas safety scheme in the uk.

I had no problems in the winter. I went to the garden centre on the road between La Zenia and Los Dolses. No ID, Contract required. The down point is that they are the orange variety which aren't so easy to swap, I wish I'd had the silver ones that seems to be available at many more locations. However, I live near that area so it's not too much of a problem for me.

Hi - do you mean that they simply sold you a full bottle or did you have one to exchange for it?
And did you know that Butano will deliver to you to exchange empty for full bottles. The lorry visits the La Zenia area three times a week. The only downside of that is that you can never be sure what time they will arrive, which is OK if you intend to be at home all day but not so good if you want to go out!

Yep, got a bottle, no contract. If I remember correctly, a refill is 12 euro and you pay 30 as a one off for the first bottle. No hassle. Don't know of its a bad thing or not, but suits us fine.
