  • easyJet flight 15th April

If anyone travelled Alicante-Bristol, with easyJet, Saturday 15th April (Easter Saturday) departing at 14:45hrs, will they please make contact with me through this board.
easyJet agents failed to comply with the boardings procedure as stipulated resulting in a complete shambles whereby eg the family first to book in were amongst the last to board.
There were many complaints made on the aircraft to the chief air hostes, who advised those affected to write and complain.
EasyJet have still to respond to my complaint (although in fairness they have a further 2 days to do so) but can I please ask readers who travelled on this flight to make contact with me.
    Thanks

Whilst I can understand your frustrations, is it really worth getting that worked up over it. The boarding is often a joke in both the UK & Spain. A) because people don't stay seated until their priority letter is called, or B)because they lay on a bus from the terminal to the aeroplane and then those with PB get on last as everyone is sad and runs from the bus! At the end of the day, we will all get a seat. If you need to sit next to children I am sure the cabin crew will sort you out a seat next to them, if they have mostly gone. It is no quicker getting off quickly at the other end as you always have to wait to reclaim your luggage. Remember it's a budget airline and as such you should accept their ridiculous boarding system. Life's too short and stressful to get worked up about such a petty thing. There are people starving, people dying in eathquakes, war etc.......... Chillout and enjoy life....

Thanks for your advice. You do appear to have got yourself a little aggitated over my posting.

I think having carefully considered your advice, that I shall continue with my complaint which is fully warranted, budget airline or not.

Aggitated I am not...... I just think it is sad that the British are are always angry over something. I really do think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill, that's all. I can understand your rant on the day...... but to still be annoyed a month later???? Ask yourself.... Did you get a seat? Did you get from A to B? Isn't that the purpose of flying?

          Who said I am British.?
If I were to say I have a fear of flying, which is only partly eased by me sitting in a certain part of the plane, not necessarily certain seats, and to enable me to board the plane early and select such area, I arrived at the airport a full 2 hours before checkin opened, thus as good as goddammit guarenteeing an "A" boarding pass. Despite this however I boarded the plane when all seats in my "safe area" had been taken, infact most seats in all areas had been taken.
And you have the nerve to tell me not to over react!! How dare you

That is what I mean....... so very angry. I sympathise if you do have a fear of flying, however have you ever asked them if you can have a seat saved in whatever part of the plane you like? On my last flight they saved the first 6 rows for some group which had some sort of needs? And they did not get on in the first batch of passengers. Also have you explained at the desk that you feel you should be priority boarding due to your fear of flying? It maybe that PB's didn't get on first either on your particular flight. I'm not in for an argument, but try and relax a bit more. Stress is not good for you. And if you are not British, you have a good command of the English language and probably live in Britain and have picked up British anger, plus "Brian" sounds very British. I was at my Dr's the other day and he said he has never seen a nation so depressed and stressed. He says we all need to relax and slow down. Hence why I am shortly moving to Spain, where "manana" is the norm and the pace a lot slower. Either way I hope you get what you are expecting from Easyjet, although I feel you maybe disappointed. As you feel you can only sit in one particular part of the plane, perhaps it would be more prudent next time to book with a an airline who allows you to pre book seats, that way you will get what you want and it will not matter, where you are in the queue to get on. Good luck.

Squeals, I totally agree with you on this one, I cannot believe the amount of complaining the British do on silly petty little things. Life is for living not complaining about the littlist things.

Relax and enjoy the fact that you wake up in the morning and can still walk and talk.

Having traveled with a few budget airlines i can honestly say easyjet is the most stressful regarding boarding. Jet2 etc allocate seats at booking in but with the easyjet system in provokes angst from the begining with everyone clamouring to get first in the queue. I agree with the others that you probably wont get anywhere with them but of course go ahead and try, maybe next time it might be better to travel with another budget carrier from a different departure airport if possible. Good luck!

Having travelled with Easyjet to Alicante many times and indeed to other destinations in Europe and having arrived as long as 3 hours before and never less than one and a half hours before I can honestly say that I have always been letter "c" or "d" for boarding. I always assumed that they issued "a" or "b" to those with children or disabilities. Still we have always got seats together when we have got on the planes, so I can only assume you have been very unfortunate if you have reason to complain.

He posted the same thread on the "other" forum which was met by a similar response.

Get over Brian for goodness sake, no-one is interested.

Alternativly why not consult one of those "no win, no fee" scavengers, if it's money you're after.

In Bristol, usuaully the first 2/3 groups get on the same Bus, then they open the Bus doors on the last in side - you should know by now as with any "low-cost" (yeah right!) airline, like it or lump it!

i have to say that i think you r all being a bit selfish brian is after all entitled to his opinions/anger regarding the flight in question. if he wants to complain then he feels he has good reason to. we r not in any position to comment onwhat he should or should not do. i feel that he has got a point i myself travelled on the same airline in jan 2006 the boarding is a shambles and i was going to be seperated from my 3yr old daughter and my mom. however the hostess did eventually move people around but not after nasty comments and moaning so yes i agree something needs to be done but i will never use the airline again this is how i dealt with it by not returning my custom. if brian feels that he should complain then good on him regards vinny

Having worked as cabin crew for 35 years I understand that people get very wound up about the simplest of things it is a stressfull thing to fly for some people and they do take things very seriously.

On a recent flight I was stopped by a passenger whilst walking through the aircraft and he compained to me about a flight he took in the 1970's.....honest!

I would advise Brian that if getting a particular seat in a particular area is important check out BA.com the fares are usually cheaper than easyjet and you get a preassigned seat, free food, free drinks a newspaper. If your seat is important then it would be worth paying more if you get what you want.

If this is not possibleand you have to travel with a low cost carrier explain clearly to the staff at the gate and again onboard to the cabin crew and if you do it nicely and dont bounce up and down they will do their best for you - i always do!

I think I agreed that Easyjet's boarding system is often a shambles, but that is their system, which as a family we accept. Easyjet if you book well in advance are often cheaper and I have to say they have been very reliable in my experience. Only one long delay of 5 hours back in the days when they had just merged with Go, and two 1/2 hr delays since then. I travel to and from spain about 6 times a year using them. I am sorry but how can you moan, if you have to sit in a certain part of a plane, and then don't get that area when you knowingly fly with an airline who does not allocate seats?
