Non-Resident buying a car in Spain

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and the mechanics (excuse the pun) of doing it? We would be buying it outright - no loans etc.

1. The documentation required.
2. The legal implications.
3. A new car -v- a second hand one.
4. The pros and cons we need to watch out for.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi Ojay,

I work at Automoviles Crepso Main Ford Dealer. For reasons of taxation and transfers, you do not find nearly new cars are substantialy lower in price then new.

The documents you will need are NIE Passport & either padron, escritura or rental agreement.

Thanks Paul will keep you in mind but what I was really looking for was any personal experience on this from a non resident who had taken this step.

Anybody in that position??
