House and Contents Insurance

Can anyone recomend a local insurance company to get quotes from for my soon to be completed home in Cabo Roig. E-Mail details would also be much appreciated.

li l linda & steve rolands, they are on ramon gallud,in torrevieja,you only find out how good your insurance is when you have to make a claim,
we had to last year when we had a water pipe in the wall in the kitchen burst,there was damage to the plaster,work tops and electrics,it was dealt with promptly,which was very suprising for spain

Hi, we use Cajamurcia bank, but haven't had to make a claim. However the purpose of this post, is to make you aware of how they assess claims in Spain. If say you were unlucky enough to get burgled, the claims assessor would come to your house, and look at what you had in there. He would assess how much all your contents are worth including kitchen stuff, and clothes etc even if you only use it as a holiday home and after totting up all that you have in your house, he will work out the difference between what he has valued your contents as and what the contents were insured for. So ensure you have adequate cover, or empty your house of most things prior to the assessor coming! Our Spanish bank manger, was unaware of this and did not get enough money to cover what was stolen as she was under insured and it was assessed as above. This is just to make you aware, especially as you maybe buying a new build and they seem to be more likely to be burgled, as the dodgey builders know new goods have been bought etc.

Thanks Steve, I will mention the TA, so far they have and one other have responded, prices similar choice is pay in UK (Sterling) or pay locally in Torry Euro's.
