Advice needed on whether to Sell or put car in storage

My Mother (Living in spain) is planning on returning to the UK for some time maybe a year or so. She has a small economic vehicle that she bought to tot around in.

She has the option to either sell it! or put it in storage until she comes back to Spain.

I don't have any idea on storage costs, or whether the savings in Insurance and road tax would make it cost effective to either sell the car or keep it until she returns. The car is only about 3 years old bought in Spain.

Any ideas from wealth of wisdom on the site please?

i think you will still have to pay road tax when it is off the the road.also you might lose you no claims bonus

Thanks for your prompt replies. I knew there would be a few anomolies
to the way we might start assessing things from a U.K standpoint that is.

It seems bizare though that you would have to pay Tax if you don't actually have the car on the road.

And "Good Point" Loss of no claims bonus. But as she is coming back to the U.K I guess she would not be able to carry her existing no claims with her to a U.K Insurer would they?
