Gambling in Spain

Can anyone tell me what the laws on gambling in spain are? is there 'bookies' as we know them around the torrevieja area?
I'm not asking because I have a gambling problem
I am currently employed in a bookmakers and if I moved out to spain was just wondering what my chances of similar employment would be.

No bookmakers shops here. Plenty of dodgey bookies in some bars but all very much unofficial. Chances of legal employment in this field? Zero.

thanks for that, I couldn't remember seeing any bookmakers around torrevieja but because I hadnt been going out of my way to look for them I didnt know if they were there but i'd not seen them.
Definately wouldnt be looking to work in the ones in bars, ive heard from family living in Benidorm that these can be dodgey.

Definately wouldn't be looking for employment in the 'bars' then it all sounds rather scary, moving over to torre isn't an immediate option but am just looking at different angles at the moment, the nature of my husband's work means that he could work anywhere but I think I would be looking for something part time to keep me occupied after the initial settling in period. And I know from speaking to people and seeing the sheer volume of other cultures that have moved to the area in the last few years that its not as simple as it looks.
