  • Car hire

    Hi everyone,
We are coming out to torro on 25 july and we have booked a car Carjet , How much will i be charged for a full tank of fuel, And how much would it cost if i went to the nearest garage fill up, The car we have booked is a CLIO 1.2.

The reason for the question is i don,t want to be ripped off by paying over the odds.

      Cheers uncle Momo,

I,ve just checked my car rental voucher and it is telling me to collect the car from Centauro desk, so hopefully i can use the FULL/FULL.

My next question is how easy is it to drive out of Alicante Airport, we are going to Los Montesinos, this is our first time driving in Spain.

      And finally,

We stayed in torro last year and found the sea had strong undercurrents we used PLAYA DEL CURA BEACH. Can anyone recommend a beach that does,nt have such strong undercurrents.
      Many Thanks.

We've used carjet from both Murcia and Alicante airport, fuel can be little more expensive, but weve always found the service to be excellent and no long que's when picking car up.
Suppose it's like everything has is plus and minuses!

          Information from carjet website

The fuel that you consume during your car hire is obviously not included in our our published car hire rates! On arrival at Alicante Airport, you will be asked to prepay a full tank of fuel. At the end of the hire, simply return the car hire vehicle back to the car hire station at Alicante Airport as empty as possible.

On short hires (3 days or less), we may be able to arrange "full/full" fuelling for your car hire at Alicante Airport against a credit card deposit. Please ask your reservations agent for further details.

Any queries before you leave you will be dealing with carjet, once you arrive though you go to the centauro desk to pick up your car so dealings then are through them, they always seem to send you to somebody elses desk I've just booked them for Murcia airport and this time i'm to go to Eurpopa goldcar. It's always pretty straight forward though.
Driving from Alicante is fairly easy - ive never got lost and i'm one of those terrible tourist drivers that forgets i'm driving on the other side of the road and goes round roundabouts the wrong way needless to say my husband doesnt let me drive much abroad!!

                car hire

matto, the nearest beach to you is guadamar the beach there is great.
About driving when i first drove i was told always make sure that the steering wheel is the centre of the road and you won't go far wrong,on leaving Alicante airport take the N332 signposted Cartagena / Santa Pola on passing Guadamar you will approach a right turn signposted Los Montsimos, just before the turning there is a large billboard advertizing the HOTEL LAGUNA. Best of luck with the driving.
                Regards Uncle Momo

The FULL/EMPTY scheme of dealing with fuel is nothing less than cheating customers.
Think about it - it's impossible to come back with an empty tank. So the company adds less fuel to top it up and they charge the next customer for a full tank. So each time they hire, they make on the fuel left in the tank, which can be quite substantial depending on the accuracy of the gauge.
                      Accept only a FULL/FULL arrangement

                          http://www.doyouspain.com/conditions.htm

They operate both options depending on location, best bet is to E-mail them for info on your prefered airport.
