Definitely have a chat with Mike Jones at Cool and Secure (he advertises on this site). I've had two units fitted and have found his workmanship to be excellent as are the units fitted. He'll happily come and give you a no obligation quote, discuss siting the units etc. Well worth a call.

Hi everyone
Can anyone help me out with a bit of advice? Have recently returned to uk from Orihuella and had one air con unit fitted, after 3 days it started to leak and were told by the fitting company that an engineer would have to be called from Hiyasu to repair the fault due to the fact that if the fitter attempted to repair the unit the warranty would be invalid, the problem arises that the engineer can take up to 6 weeks. Basically i was wondering am i being "fed a line" and does the word "cowboy" spring to mind. Would appreciate any feedback as this company advertises 1000,s of happy customers!!

I would suggest you call them back.
I have operated a air conditioning biss,. here for eight years, as far as im aware there is only one manufacture operating their own technical backup service ,and it is not hiyasu, all back up in spain, and warranty is by the installer,yes replacement parts are made available to us by our suppliers but the labour charges are down to the installer,You dont mention the company name, maybe you should and less of these problems would occur. The leaking oil is of either faulty workmanship,or a manufacturing fault,in either case it is up to the installer to put right,or if a fault in the machine, the installer should be able to take the unit back within 3 months for exchange
