paperwork needed to buy a second hand car

[katrina]

looking to buy a second hand car in the very near future what should we take along with us to the garage we are non resident??

What paperwork should we receive from the garage once we have made the purchase?

[DC]

I bought one last year all I can remember taking is passport, NIE number and Padron certificate. I think the garage will require proof of your address some will accept a sighting of your deeds instead of Padron certificate. I have not received transfer documents yet but I believe they are ready when I return to Spain.
