Can anyone help me by recommending a good buildings and content insurer.

We are buying a property near algorfa on La Finca Golf and are about to start furnishing. It will not be occupied all the time and could be let out as well so it is not a straight forward insurance.

Any suggestions please.

We use this one after checking out lots. Friends have changed from theirs too to this one in Torrevieja. Much cheaper than Intasure who took our telephone number & kept ringing us to see why we hadn't taken out their policy. It was a really good price. Office has English speaking staff. The policy is in English. They will email you policy also send it through post.

I use my banks, however the reason for this post is, make sure you over insured rather than under insured. If you are burgled, the assessor will come to your house and assess what is left, giving items such as clothes and kitchen stuff an average amount regardless of whether you have clothes there. He will then add up what your remaining stuff is worth and then give you the difference between that and the insured value. My bank manager had her stuff under valued and got hardly any pay out, and lost more than she got paid out for. I am not sure if all policies work like this, but beware.

Cambank wanted LOTS more for SAME cover than Saltsbay.

You could try Easy Insurance based beside the Todo Todo on the Old Alicante Road. Gave me a low quote. At present I am insured through my Bank with Zurich.
