Hotels in France

Gail 1, or others with experience of the 'short crossing' , I'm motoring from Calais to Torre at the end of February next. Can you recommend hotels and worthwhile stops in France please. We want to use the new bridge and stay in France for at least 3 days. Thanks. Ceolmunnd

We use www.logis-de-france.fr/uk for all our hotel stops as we travel with our dog and many are dog-friendly. We find the one in Nissan-lez-Ensurune or Sigean very good for the one nearest Spain. When we use the route crossing the Millau bridge (it's wonderful!) we generally only have two stops in France, but have rarely been disappointed with the hotels. Some may look in need of a bit of paint, but all have been clean and offer good food at reasonable prices. Our only disappointing one was in La Carnourgue but we may have been unlucky.

We usually come back "the other way" towards Toulouse or on to Bordeaux and do have a couple of good ones to use any time you want a different route. Enjoy the drive. Gail

Sorry for the delay in thanking you both. I was without internet because I had my useless wireless system removed. Now with Telefonica and excellent. We look forward to the journey and will do as you say, travel until we decide to stop and then find a hotel.
