COMPLETING ON MY APARTMENT

I will be completing on my apartment in the new year, is there any advice anyone can give me ? ie extra cost, pitfalls!

Congratulations.
You will need to sort out security first and foremost, change your locks and fit grills where necessary, break ins nearly always come in the first few weeks, the thieves know you will be bringing cash and cards etc to buy all your new goodies, so be alert at all times, don't want to scare you but better to be warned and safe.
