  • Moving Over Soon!!

Hola.Me, My partner and our Three Year Old are moving over as soon as our house is sold in the good old UK. We have a house in the Los Altos(Deam Hills) Area. We would love to hear from Parents in the area to have a chat or email just so we can make some contacts. We would also love advise on international schools in the area as we feel our three year old needs to learn both as she has not got the full grasp of English yet!!.Would be great for anybody to get in touch if you have kids or not.
You can reply to the post or email.
    hanakd1@btinternet.com or s.ross176@btinternet.com..
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi why don't you click on the Living in Spain link on the home page for schools etc. Also you are not far from The Emerald Isle in La Florida from were your place is they have lots of clubs and that .Ask in there I am sure you will soon get to know people in the same situation as yourselves
    Best of luck Simmy

Good luck hope you sell the house soon. We live in LA Florida have two children age 8 and 9, both of which go to Spanish schools. If you are thining of international schools El limonar seems to be the best choice it is near Villa Martin so close by. I know what you are saying about the language thing but they are very good in the spanish schools, I know of a little girl who is three and both her languages have improved dur to playing with the neglish speaking children and spanish, at this age it is not more about play and respect for other etc so they have plenty of time to develop their language, Pop into the school and see if they will let you have a visit watch what they do and what language they use etc. This may help you make your mind up.

        Marie

I will email you with my details and when you are over either for a visit or move in we can meet up etc

            HI again

The kids settled in really well. The first day at school was frightening for us all they did not know what to expect and we said that if they did not settle that would be it try private school but then how long would we be able to pay for that for two so it was make or break. We sat worrying smoked about twenty cigs in a couple of hours then went to collect them for lunch they came running out telling us how good it was and how the teachers are so nice etc. From time to time they have their moments when they miss freinds etc but this is due to their age you are lucky as you will not have this problem as much.
Now little boy plays golf and little girl has contnued with her dance studies at a BBo school which is noce as this helped with continuity of what she knew in uk. Both have lots of Freinds Daughter has Spanish and English which has helped her language lots. We use BBc bitesize website for them to keep up with English reading and writing. There are lots of ways to help develop both languages through playing with other English in and out of school, but the sooner they get into the Spanish language the easierthey pick it up as under five they are like sponges as i am sure you know. Anyway speak soon.

            Marie

              Hi.
Thats great thank you.The tips on BBC Bitesize will be helpfull. Have just got Muzzy for her while we are still here.I like the idea of her going to spanish school and of course a hell of a lot cheaper!.I think I was just worried that I could not teach her the English skills grammer etc etc even though I am confident myself. What is the name of the school? and i guess as you are not that far away it would be the same one?.Sorry about all the questions but its nice to have some help! .
              Hannah.
