cheap phone calls/mobile top ups

Can anyone give me any guidance and help regarding phoning between Spain and UK please. I was surfing yesterday looking to see if there was any way I can top up my Spanish PAYG mobile on the internet before I come over tomorrow to make sure Ive got enough credit when I land. I didnt get any joy there so if anyone else knows a way of doing it I would be most grateful. I did however come across several site which can supposedly save money on phone calls between Spain and UK by either entering a prefix before the number or a call card. Does anyone use these and if so can they please explain it to Mrs Thicky here as Im a bit lost off, and also very suspicious of scams.

For UK to Spain calls, go to www.telediscount.co.uk or www.discountdial.co.uk. However, if phoning to a mobile, nothing works out cheap.

For Spain to UK calls, it's probably best to buy a 6 euro phone card. You get 300 minutes if ringing landline to landline but a whole lot less if using a mobile. (You just ring 1700, press 2 for English, enter the number on your card, then ring the UK number. It's dead simple, you opt for English at the start and they tell you step by step thereafter.)

I've never yet found a way to top-up my Spanish mobile online!

I can top up my Spanish mobile from the UK through my on-line Spanish bank acount (Banco Popular).

The phone had to be topped up in Spain, through a Banco Popular ATM, before it could be done through the on-line bank account

We use Jovive (dog n bone La Zenia set it up 4u) for phoning the U.K from our Movistar Spanish mobiles... its one of these deals where it charges so much from Jovive account (topped up as u do with mobile at dog n bone) and so much from Movistar. If i remember right it works out to a landline in U.K at 17cents... (12c from Jovive+5c from Movistar)

As far as topping up, most banks, as long as you register your mobile number with them will let you top up with on-line banking... well at least I know Bancaja let us.

We are with Vodaphone.es we can top up either here in the uk or in Spain. We use our banks on line facility in the uk and top up at their ATM in Spain
