Hello,
We are holidaying in the Torrevieja area in August and we are staying at the Bravomar Urbanisation,if anyone knows the area could they please reply and let me know,according to the blurb we got from the apartment owner the apartment is near bars/restaraunts called the perro negro,Elliots and Fawlty Towers,I've looked on reviews but cannot see any mention of these places,also the nearest beach is apparently the Cala de Higuera,could someone please tell me what this beach is like i.e sandy,sunbeds,pedaloes etc. and finaly what is your opinion of Torreveja,we've heard so many stories but are firm believers in finding things out for ourselves but any inside knowledge is useful.Thanks in advance.

the beach you mention is just a small cove, no facilities but you are not too far from Los Locos which has sunbeds, pedaloes kiosks, cafes etc. There is a better choice of bars here. Murphs on the coast road, then in the road behind you have Sports bar, Durty Nellys, Popeyes, Tipsys, George of Tavern Key etc. If you go in the other direction you have La Mata beach with all facilites and bars of Los Lomas, O'Briens, Vineyard, DunRoamin, Loiners etc. We have never been in Perro Negro but know where it is, Elliotts has been closed for some time now, Fawlty Towers has a new name which I can't remember. You also have Los Frutales Sports bar, Irish Rover And Killgallons near there. Torrevieja centre, pier, funfair, promenade,market, port is a beautiful place and about a 30/40 min walk alng the coast from you. We love Torrevieja, people are friendly and we have never had any problems but like everywhere you have to be aware, check out .co.uk version of this site, you will probably get more info there. In the town itself there is a good mix of British and Spanish, around your are I think ther are a few Scandinavians.
