  • Padron

Hi....my partner and I have just registered on the 'padron' and have received the certificate of 'empadronimiento' from the town hall. Can anyone tell me how long this lasts and when we would have to renew please?

    Many thanks

We were told at the town hall that the padron only lasts 1 month. It does not have to be renewed. If you need another copy just take your passport there, and they will give you another one.

Many thanks.....I wasn't sure if I had correctly understood the Spanish of the girl at the desk, but took this to be the case.

      Thanks for your prompt reply

Once you are on the Padron you stay on it, but when you need to produce a padron, like to buy a car and things like that you need one at most 3 months old. as the other poster says it is easy to get it up dated and it only takes a minute.

Just to let everyone know that anyone thinking of going to the old town hall building to get a new padron or update an old one, it has now moved to: Calle Union Musical Torrevejense 22. Its about 50 mtrs from the Palacio de Musica on the righthand side, and just before the OMIC office

Sure it only takes a minute to do, after you have spent hours in the queue.
