However the bars inside the ground will be open extra early.

Kick off is at 6.30pm, but please do arrive in plenty of time (I would suggest by around 5.30pm)

They Drew 2-2 so Torrevieja do not go up as Fuertaventura won 3-2 on aggregate and go up maybe Torrevieja FC will go up next year

Oh well it's only a game. Many people would be far more impressed with F.C.Torrevieja if they actually made an effort to integrate kids from other nationalities into their youth football teams instead of freezing them out. They're happy to take money at the gate and through merchandising from "Foreigners".Sponsorship too.Try getting your kids playing in their youth teams though.Torrevieja United has NO affiliation with FC Torrevieja and was started so foreign kids could get a game of footy.Charlton tried to make contact, but were rebuffed. So while you're forking out for next seasons season ticket to watch third rate players falling about under the watchful eyes of tenth rate crooked referees.Don't expect any British kids to be coming through for you to cheer, because they won't entertain them.Still,as I said. It's only a game.

I never go to watch FC Torrevieja. Was just answering Barrys Question if they won. Don't even read the write up abut them only know as it was on the back of the Coastrider freebie paper!

Thanks Brian for your honest appraisal.Having worked with Charlton and Torrevieja United I know that there are hundreds of British kids and other nationalities who would love to represent their town. Many of whom are totally fluent in Spanish. There seems to be this barrier though which will certainly do CF Torrevieja no favours as Rojales,Pilar,Guardamar and the like harvest the foreign talent. If you hold a position of authority within the club.Or you know someone who does. You would do well to address it.

I do not have any official association with either the football club or The Torry Army.
Youth acadamies are very expensive to run and the evidence of this is to be found in the UK and elsewhere, where clubs have dropped off funding. In part this is due I believe to The Bosman Ruling which basically means any player within Europe becomes a free agent when his contract with a club runs its course.
So we have cases where a club invests heavily in the development of youth players only to see some of the better players move onto other clubs at an early stage. and the club does not receive compensation for its investment.

That having been said as I indicated earlier I do believe the various representatives, in this case Fc Torrevieja and the youth set up of Torrevieja Utd should work towards a module which benefits all parties.

Torrevieja United's problem is that it has no "Parent" club.Nowhere to feed players to once they are too old to play youth football. Therefore there is no future for the club.I was a founder member and did three years "time",but could see no way forward without a club to feed into.I still can't and it's a real shame as the kids who have settled here need hopes and aspirations, sometimes of a sporting nature. To keep them off the streets. If not, give it a few years and we'll have similar problems to the UK.I live in Orihuela Costa. Can anyone describe to me the sports facilities for kids in this area?
