Its that time of year again folks. Animals being abandoned everywhere, I am so tired of people blaming the spanish for animal cruelty and the abandoned animals, when in fact their are so many foriegn nationals mostly brits that move to Spain take an animal in or buy one, then decide that they have to move back to the their own country, What happens to their pets, They are dumped, put down or left at the nearest animal rescue with the usual excuse, Cant afford to stay,Havent got accomodation that allows pets back home, Hes to big,To boistrous. Its to late to do their passport.Oh and the favourite of most "Im allergic to it".This animal relies on its owners like a child on its parents, or would these people do it to their kids as well. Makes you wonder doesnt it.

Re: Animals
It doesn't make me wonder Bikerchic.I'm certain that if their children got in the way of their plans, many British parents would dump them too.Nothing being allowed to come between them and theid pursuit of pleasure.A nation of animal lovers we are not.A nation of children lovers.Even less.I know i'm generalising so don't all shoot me down in flames.Or do.I could give a monkeys.Originalmente publicado por bikerchicIts that time of year again folks. As you say bikerchic, it's not just the Spanish - or the Brits. The Germans, Irish and other 'foreign nationals' are also notorious for dumping their pets when they decide to return to their 'home' country. One (Irish) family turned up at APAH Rescue early one morning, kids in car, car loaded with cases etc, and said they were returning to Ireland suddenly and unexpectedly and 'here's our dogs'!
As if they just got up that morning and made the decision!
There's also many microchipped dogs being found looking lost and confused and when the police check the address and phone number they find the phone disconnected and the house all locked up.
It's no wonder I prefer animals to people.
