im thinking about buying a tap top computer in the uk to use when im in torrevieja for 3 months.provided the property i stay in has internet access will i just be able to plug in and use.are there plenty of internet cafes around quesada?any advise most welcome

Dont buy a TAP top computer - it may fall into the sink!

Sorry - I would think it unlikely that a rented apartment will be provided with internet access.

I dont know Quesada very well but there are many internet cafes around the area and you can use a computer on a coin in the slot system

PC world has an offer at the moment if you sign on for their broadband service they will give you a lap top free!

thanks andy sorry i must have been pissed when i replyed.a lot of apartments ive seen for long term rental have been advertised has having internet access. just wondered if one would just work out there.

don't seem too bad prices compared to ones in playa flamenca area - virtually all are 1 euro for just 10 mins - total ripoff!

best we've found is big bar/restaurant (los somehing or other?) on corner as you turn in to Salt Bar at rocio del mar - - 1 euro for 30 mins!

any laptop will work in spain, so long as the method of connecting to the internet is incorperated into the laptop.
nearly all laptops these days have WIFI (wireless internet connection) built in, and all new laptops have an ethernet port and usb port, so no matter what the internet connection is in the property, it will be compatable.
if it is WIFI, make sure the landlord gives you the encryption key, otherwise your stuck with the old fashioned ethernet cable or usb.

you wont be able to just walk into an internet cafe with your laptop and connect, as most will not allow an unknown device on their network, but if you find a "hot spot" you cn connect using WIFI, but there are no "hot spots" that i have come across around Torre and Quesada.

Hi I am going to buy a new computer when in UK to bring back to Spain. It will have Wifi. Do you know where I can subscibe to an ISP and the cost. Many thanks. Sue
