does anyone know of a good little train route to take the kids on?.Preferbly with some good scenery. And where do you get the train from etc?.Ideally close to torrevieja town or surrounding area.

I cant remember the name of the sation but if you drive towards Alicante on the Motorway and keep you eyes peeled you will see a sign with a little train on it. Take this exit and you will find a lovely little rural station you can catch the train to Alicante and it goes along the coast. At Alicante you can get the orange Blossom specail that goes north of Alicante to Benidorm a nice little ride.

Last summer we went on this little train which we had heard and read about, running from Alicante to Denia. It starts at the sea front in Alicante. We went by bus from Torrevieja to the bus station in Alicante. The first 10-15 minutes of the train trip was nice. Then we had to change to an UGLY,crowded and noisi train. Dirty all over the inside and outside, and very hot. Tagged and worse than a big city tube. A few charming places to overlook but most backyards and construction areas. We planned to go to Denia but there was only a few trips that far. In Benidorm the station is high up in a steep hillside which was ok to walk down but not up!
We will not bring our granchildren/guests on that train for a "nice ride with a train!" May be if we were taking them to Terra Mitica or something else in Benidorm not wanting to drive a car.
To us this was a great disapointment, hopefully they will upgrade the trainstandard in the near future?Comentario
