  • Real Ale?

Does anyone know of any bars in the Torrevieja area that serves draught ale, or any supermarkets that sell bottled ale.
My Father is coming for a visit and loves his real ale !!

I am a real ale lover myself. Cheers Bar near Villamartin has Marstons Pedigree and I have seen Fullers London Pride around but generally I find the bottled real ales the best. The Rocahuna near Punta Prima and Breakaways at Pueblo Principe, Campomor are 2 that I know of that sell the bottled varieties. Speckled Hen, Abbot, Tanglefoot, Hobgoblin etc etc. They are usually 3.5 euros for a half litre bottle. I am sure there must be many other bars that sell them.

Thanks Fly, that's a real help.

I am trying to encourage my Father to spend time in Spain during the winter as the British weather has become detrimental to his health. Last winter he had 2 spells in hospital.
The only way he'd spend time in Spain is if he could still get his beloved Ale. He's a long time CAMRA man and is heavily involved with the production of the good beer guide.

I bet the Spanish climate would be ideal for a spot of home brew!

Real Ale in Spain is Mahou, Cruz Campo, San miguel etc.

However as a real ale drinker myslef ( Harveys of Lewes) It would be nice to get proper beer in the area.

Most supermarkets have a good beer selection and I have seen many British Real beers in bottles at Mercadona, Carrefour, Super Cor etc.

Also many high end Spanish, German and Belgian beers are available.

A lot of the German bars have good beer on draught so maybe the chance to broaden the beer horizons.
