I'd love to but I don't know how! Haven't got time to mess about and find out how at the mo either.
I did zoom in on the photos and found out some more clues but now I have forgotten them!
The first one was that there IS a street light at the back of the building.
The second one was that in his photo of the front street, I could make out a "Bloque 4" tiled sign which puzzles me as to why he said the name of HIS block was "V". I would have thought it would be Bloque 5.
The final one was that a ground floor flat has put tiles on the wall calling it Casa something and it is the something I've forgotten.
    More later.......

Hmmmm I think I need blank DVD's to save the photos on to so that I can shift them about and I don't have any!
CASA BOLLI is what a groundfloor apartment is called.
I'm now more or less convinced that this is a scam of some sort but I'd like to get to the bottom of it.

From what I read in the local press there doesn't seem to be any united opposition to the Partido Popular, with Claro, PSOE and Los Verdes all protesting independently. There needs to be solidarity across the political spectrum. If this doesn't happen then these three parties could split the coastal vote at the next election allowing the PP to hold onto power. This would be a disaster. Would anybody out there like to start a cross-party campaigning group?
I've already confirmed my support for your video on the other Torre. site.

On your above quote I have would like to point out how wrong you are about there being no united opposition against the PP. You only have to look at the circumstances of the current debate about the approval; of the contract for the collection of rubbish within the Orihuela municipality. The three opposition parties that have elected Councillors, LOS VERDES, PSOE, and CLR have worked as one force against the PP, issuing joint press releases and acting as a team on this matter. There have been and will be many occasions when the three parties support the mutual aims of stopping the PP destroying the environment and the quality of life for the residents of Orihuela, whilst remaining as independent entities.

I've already gone on record in another media and expressed the opinion that it wasn't the main opposition parties that split the coastal vote at the last election allowing the PP to hold onto power, but the smaller parties who received less than 5% of the total of all eligible votes cast.

Based on the assumption that the wasted votes for those parties that received less than 5% of the total votes (the minimum number required to be included in the calculation of the allocation of Councillors), including CLARO, had been distributed amongst the parties in accordance with voting trends, excluding the PP of course, then we would not now be in the appalling positon that we are. It is calculated that the PP would have only had 12 Councillors, with the PSOE having 7, LOS VERDES(The Green party) having 4, and the CLR with the remaining 2. No one party would have had an overall majority, as there is now, but with the PSOE, LOS VERDES, and CLR working together they would have had a working majority and the PP would have been ousted.
The failure of the smaller parties, and CLARO is amongst these, was that they did not have policies which were attractive to the electorate throughout the whole Municipality. What they did was to dilute the votes, because of their perceived narrow area of policy aims, from the main established opposition parties. This is what really helped to keep the PP in power.
There's no need to start a cross-party campaigning group, it already exists , it's called the Official Opposition.

Thank goodness - it's called democracy! Something that 500,000 died for during the Spanish Civil War.

It's up to each party to present policies that will get it elected/re-elected. Whether I like it or not the PP did that "best".

Alyson, in latin "V" means 5 which you know, we have an apartment & it is in Bloque V, I think you should be very careful, there are a lot of sharks here, as there are everywhere.

Thanks Wendy, I AM being, believe me! I just can't figure out how he plans to rip people off, though. I am waiting for his suggestion to pay a deposit (sight unseen) which, as you know, would be non-returnable. He has already mentioned in his last email to me that he has other people interested. This is, in my experience, the forerunner! Other than that, I don't know how he can do it.
Anyway, yeah, I know V is 5 in Roman numerals but, him having told me that all the address he had was Bloque V, I then managed to mess about with the photos he had emailed me and discovered that the tiles on the nextdoor bit of the building say "Bloque 4"so I can't see how his would be in Roman numerals.
The other thing is that, having also messed about with the photo of the swimming pool that he emailed me, I enlarged the buildings in the background and they are nothing like the photos of the building that his apartment is supposed to be in! Also, the pool is fenced in and the photo was taken from outside the fence! Having questioned him about this, he said that the swimming pool is 20 metres along the street "tucked away from prying eyes"! 65 feet away! Yeah, right! I think it is a photo of someone else's pool!
Also, finally, neither the building nor the apartment look anything like 10 years old. They look to me to be more like 2 years old max. You know how Spanish properies tend to show their age?

                Ellsam

Thanks for your interesting response, and I do appreciate the support and agree with all your comments on the co.uk site.

Unfortunately, I am a bit unclear on how the voting works in Orihuela Costa. From what you say, are you telling me that the 'official opposition' hold meetings together and agree on what action needs to be taken aginst the ruling PP?

My knowledge of politics in Orihuela Costa is limited to what I read in the local press. I think what is needed is an apolitical action group. By this, I mean a group that is not tied to any one political party yet has the support of all. It's all very well denouncing this and that under a political banner, but as far as I can see, one small video on youtube has created more attention to the problems in this area than any of the politcial parties have managed to achieve. There needs to be action and not words, this means a greater number of people willing to get out onto the streets to protest, unhindered by political affiliation. We also need different and imaginative ways of campaigning that will keep the focus and the pressure on the town hall.

May I ask, if the main opposition parties all had an agenda for bettering the services of coastal residents, why wasn't Claro integrated into the existing political opposition at its conception stage? Do you know if any of the political parties approached Claro early on and asked them to join their fold? Please, excuse my ignorance.

Yeah I know that's good advice, Tapper but I'm still persevering for the moment! If the photos of the inside are accurate, it's a nice big flat at a good price.
Of course, it won't be a "Good price" if it doesn't have a swimming pool!

I've just found out a bit more info!
It's on the other side of the N332 from the beach and "Just beyond the Mercadona shopping centre." Remember that, previously, it was "Round the corner from the Saturday market". Does this help to pin down its location?????????? Anybody

                      Orihuela Costa

The La Cinuelica development is off the N332 at Punta Prima not on the coast side and near to the Sunday car boot sales. There is a website for La Cinuelica. This development is only a few years old and building is still in progress.

                        Orihuela

There is an Asian person selling a townhouse in R8 in LaCinuelica, it was only built a year ago, it is about 200 yds from Mercadona, and the new Punta marina shopping centre. So that is what it might be.

All the parties, with the exception of CLARO, that contested the elections issued their manifestos of their aims for improving the quality of the lives of all the citizens within the whole of the Orihuela Municipality (Orihuela town, Orihuela Costa area, and the Pedanias). Included within those were matters that were more relevant to the Orihuela Costa area.

It must be considered that the established opposition parties look at and work for the Orihuela Municipality as a whole entity, whilst considering that certain areas have more specific needs. This is not the case in respect of CLARO who have shown themselves to be only interested in Orihuela Costa. If you look at their logo it says
. Bob Houliston, President of the party is on record as stating
We also need different and imaginative ways of campaigning that will keep the focus and the pressure on the town hall.
                          .

All the opposition parties will be in agreement with this sentiment.

                              Hi again
I have had a look at lots of websites about La Cinuelica but I think if the seller's property is on that development, surely he would have said it was in "Los Altos" rather than "Playa Flamenco"? No?
The other clue about the block is that, at the back of the building, there are garages on the ground floor.
