Hi all, anybody got info on good places to go for Christmas Dinner or what is like out there at that time of year as it will be our first time.
Many thanks
Kev
Hi Kev,
The weather has been really unpredictable of late, unlike last year when the weather was really warm and sunny even on Christmas Day, but on the whole its warm in the day average 20 degrees dropping to about 17 degrees over night. We dont do the going out to Christmas Dinner thing but my Son is working in a restaurant called Butterflies and they are open for Christmas Dinner the price is 45 euros per head, he says that the food is all home cooked and looks really good if your interested you would have to book on 965 319 545 and they are over on Los Altos. Other than that you could look at the local papers online The Leader, Coastrider etc, there are some places advertising there. Whatever you decide have a good Christmas
Hi, two very good places I would recommend are Christopher's in Mar Azul, Torrevieja, or Casa Nicholas on the Crevillente Road going out of Torrevieja. Or if you fancy something a little more Spanish, then I bet the Villa Meson Salada (near San Luis roundabout) is also doing something. I've only ever eaten a lunchtime buffet there which was really good. The other two I have eaten at night-time.
The Abbey in La Florida is doing an Xmas meal ,full meal plus drinks for 35 euros.Never had Xmas Dinner there so can't say how good or bad the food is.
Honey's, Via Park III, Los Altos are offering a Christmas meal for 65E, very extensive menu, 6 course. Believe only limited spaces are available.... Previous personal experience is that Honey's is a very individual restaurant, very creative and have always enjoyed our meals at Honey's.
Thank you all very much for your replies. Sounds like we have a few good choices. I will google the restaurants and check the local papers, hopefully the weather will be good to us all. I will let you know the outcome, can't wait.............
Many thanks again
Kev
My wife and I are spending the last two weeks of December in La Mata which of course will include Christmas Day.
We don't particularly celebrate Christmas so don't need a special lunch or dinner, but here in UK if you want a lunch/evening meal on Xmas day and you haven't booked, you go hungry.
Is it the same in Spain? Do all the restaurants close down over lunch/evening meals if they aren't doing specials, or will there be places open as per any normal day?
If we really do need to book for a Xmas day lunch, can you suggest English speaking restaurants which could accept telephone bookings?
All Indian and Chinese restaurants are open as normal on Christmas Day and as I only know the number of the restaurant my Son works in thats the only one I can give you and they are English as are most of the restaurants in this area. As I said in my previous thread look at the adverts in our local papers all are online. The Leader. The Coastal Rider, The Roundtown News and the Costa Blanca news.
