does anyone know if its possible to get a train or bus from torrevieja or around thehre to barcelona and around how much it would cost?

There are direct buses from Torrevieja bus station
There are direct trains from Alicante
There are direct planes from Alicante and Murcia

Flights www.spanair.es and www.iberia.es some GREAT value flights if you are flexible (From as little as 10 euros + taxes)
It's a great city and well worth a few days. The rail system within the city is pretty chaotic at the moment because of upgrading but I would not let that put me off.
