Santa Maria's and bars behind dialprix update wanted

Hi all
Please can anyone update me on what is happening. Article in Coastrider says that all the bar/cafes behind Dialprix on coast road between Torre and Mar Azul have been given notice to remove all their outside eating areas. I agree that there needs to be improvements in this area, eg. a promenade but surely there will still be room for these establishments to have an outside eating area.
Perhaps these will be rebuilt at the expense of the council once the improvements have been complete???!!!!

Went to Santa Maria yesterday spoke to Robin the owner, They had a meeting last week Robin said it didn't go to well, said they were having a meeting again on Friday when i spoke to him yesterday he said the councillors didn't turn up.

Also when I was out last (Christmas) Ranchos had a sign in window for rent. Do you or anyone else know if the sign is still there?

No Problems Wendetg i am going on Thursday. Think it was called Ranchos that had a for rent sign up think it had a for sale sign as well.

Hi Wendetg Went to Santa Maria today for Lunch and they are having another meeting tomorrow. Santa Maria is closing for a few weeks on Monday re-opens 6th March so won't know what will happen until he comes back. Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow as it is so nice to sit there for a meal. Ranchos still has a for sale and for rent sign up in the window.

We are friends with Jacky & Phil of the bar 103, we will try to go there in a few day's time, but having got back to Spain from London, we have a lot of legal & insurance things to sort out as the house was broken in to while we were in London.

Thanks Fudgey and Wendy. I will be out in April but if you hear anything before then it would be good to know. It will be a real shame to lose the outside eating areas as the warmer weather arrives and even more so if then nothing gets done for months/years.
Wendy I am sorry to hear you have been broken into - hope all goes smoothly with insurance claim etc.

Sorry haven't had time to go to Bar 103, but if you can get a copy of Round town News (maybe someone can send it to you) go to pages 18 & 23 you will read all about it there, or get it online, www.roundtownnews.com.

The break in has really un-nerved me. We will see what the insurers come up with, so far the workmanship has been very shoddy, to say the least. I think a fight is on our hands.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and post the link Wendy - much appreciated.
I can understand how you must feel shaken up by the break in; apart from anything else it is horrible to think of univited strangers in your home. Hopefully you have good friends around to support you.
