I would like to pay tribute through your Forum to my brother who tihs week visited my apartment in Torrevieja. On the day of his arrival he saw our elderly neighbour, who lived alone, going by ambulance to hospital. For several days he heard the sound of the television from the neighbours apartment, obviously it not been switched off when he had left. A few days later there was silence. My brother rang the doorbell several times in the ensuing days, there was no reply. Concerned, he notified the management company. The Police arrived, took statements and eventually they forced the door open. Sadly the old gent had died. So many people had passed by his door and through my brother's persistance the sad event was discovered. We all owe a duty of care to the old and the lonely, may he rest in peace.
